Little is Big

small is bigEvery little bit helps, even when it does not feel that way!  Everyday life can be so boring and mundane and stressful at the same time leaving us exhausted and overwhelmed at the end of the day.  Wondering how we are ever going to get it all done and how to fit everything into the linear time line, that we call a calendar. First remember that time is not just linear but works on a dimensional scale.  The timing of everything is always out of our hands we are just trying to manipulate it when we can, however there are always going to be things out of our control and somehow in the end things always do come together just not how we had imagined or expected them to or on the time line we wanted.

We also have to remember a few other things, most importantly that every little bit does help in the grand scheme of things and that we are not ever going to get it all done, there is no such thing as all done, there will always  be more and a never ending list of things to do in life.  There for we cannot keep saying when I get done with this list I will have time to do what matters to me.  The list will always be there and it will always be growing.  What we have to start doing is equating ourselves into the list.  Why?  Because every little bit does help and meeting our needs does become BIG.  Once we can begin to meet our needs daily we will have more energy and mind set to take on the never ending tasks that lie ahead, we will also begin to feel more moments of Being joyful and alive rather than feeling more moments of being stressed  and overwhelmed.  We have to carve out time for ourselves to exist and BEE in the present.  We have to feel moments of being alive in order to get recharged.  We cannot continue to constantly walk around in our heads doing tasks that are trying to get us ahead and into the future.  Our lists and goals are important but they must be balanced and we must create time in our lives for us to be fully alive and in that moment and not in our heads.  Some people do this by meditating, going to a yoga class, playing an instrument, outdoor recreation, art, reading, singing whatever way you have learned how to turn your mind off and BEE…do that and do that often because that is how we harness and ignite the energy from within ourselves rather than looking outside of ourselves for happiness.  This week’s challenge….do something or the same thing from your useless list everyday this week!  Start out with just 10 minutes….because little is BIG.  It is every little tiny knit that produces a blanket.  Have fun BEEING this week!

Bee You TifulWhat makes one beautiful?  Well they do say Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?  There is nothing more beautiful to me than to see a woman who is empowering herself and others.  A female who is not afraid of her power and shinning it for all see. It is those women who let us all glimpse at how truly amazing women all are and are capable of being.  We have to be bold and willing to go outside of our comfort zone in order to grow into who we really truly are.  How do we do this and what does it look like to be one of these beyoutiful women?  We have to take a first step and make a commitment to our relationship with self. Creating space in our life’s to fit ourselves and our desires, goals and needs into will only create a sense of ease and well being.  In this fast pace world it is easy to put ourselves and needs aside for the sake of trying to juggle time, jobs, parenting and relationships. Yet when we set ourselves aside in daily life we are actually teaching and demonstrating that our needs are not as important?  That we do not value ourselves as a priority? This is not a very good example to live by, it teaches a not sustainable non empowering lifestyle to our children spouses and friends. If we want to change the world we must begin by changing ourselves because we impact those around us.  We must start by doing what makes us Happy, gift yourself permission to be and live the lifestyle you have always dreamed of.  Is this going to happen overnight? Hell no!  Is this going to take a long time?  Yes probably the rest of our lives.  Are you going to feel a change right away?  Yes! Just remember a sailor only has to change the course of the ship by one degree to end up at a completely different location after crossing the ocean.  You too will start to feel different and more alive each day by changing your course by one degree!

In order to reach any Big or Grand goal you have to start small and continue to take those small little steps.  Climbers get to the top of a Mountain by taking thousands of small steps over and over and eventually they get to the top, but only because they are willing to take small steps over and over and not give up.   The first step is committing to your relationship with self and self care….. Call it a date with destiny!  Gift yourself at least 20 minutes this week to do whatever you want being “useless, nonproductive” Walking, biking, bathing, writing, making art, yoga, dancing, reading..….whatever makes your heart sing out, do that and do it at least once this week for 20 minutes!  Where there is a will there is a way.  If you have to wake up earlier, go to bed later or carve out sometime in the middle of a day do whatever it takes just make it work for the sake of you!  Take 5 minutes right now and make a list so you have ideas for what to do in those 20 free minutes you have gifted yourself.  By making this list you are not only getting clear and remembering all the little things that matter to you, you are also saving yourself from running around in circles going “what should I do” everyday of our lives there are so many things that we want to do and get done, this list will keep things clear and grow as time goes on and will actually become a pillar for your everyday life! This list is called the useless list, yup the useless list!  Why?  Well because we run around telling ourselves we don’t have time to do the things we want to really be doing because they are not important, serious or productive.  However we will begin to find out just how important these “useless” tasks are in our lives by exploring and actually making time to do them!

Here is a quick example

Take a Bath

Read a book

Go for a walk

Write in a journal

Make some Art

Soak feet and paint nails

Go on a bike ride

Etc. etc. etc.

Today is That Day

today is that dayHere it is that time of year again… a new year, which in turn means new goals and dreams for the year to come.  I am a dreamer, always have been and always will be.  So far my dreaming has taken me on many adventures therefore I am a strong believer in following and listening to those dreams.  That place of trust from within that makes no logical sense at all but it just feels right to you….that is your happy place don’t ever ignore it, feed it, grow that passion and water it like you would a seed.  That place or voice or feeling that you are tapping into is your inner compass that will help you navigate through out your entire life.

So here I am today showing up for my new adventure as I journey across the pages.  For years I have had an inner voice that keeps returning me to the idea of being a writer someday.  Well today is that someday.  Today is that day that I take the leap of faith and commit to doing what my heart longs to be doing.  Today is the day that I make myself vulnerable to the world outside of me. Today is the day that I start to share what is hiding inside of me so that I am able to uncover and unearth my hidden treasures that lie deep within and are waiting to be found.  Today is the day that I say “Fear I will no longer let you keep me from following my dream.” Today is the day that I JUMP!  Because I am somebody and I have something to say and share. I don’t know exactly what it is that I have to say or share yet, I just know that the only way to find out is to just do it! I encourage you to join me on this year long adventure and journey across the page.  We can discover and unearth the hidden treasures we are compelled to share and find with the rest of the world.
